What is Nimra?

Nimra is an app for prepaid phone lines. Each line is its own phone number for calls, incoming texts and voicemail, over Wi-Fi or mobile data. No SIM card and no contract.

What kind of number do I get?

A US or Canadian number with a local area code, from licensed carrier partners. It works over the internet, which is why this kind of number is also called a virtual or VoIP number. How a line without a SIM works.

How much does Nimra cost?

Nimra is prepaid. You add credit in the app, the line is paid from it every 30 days and calls are charged by the minute. Voicemail is free, credit never expires and there is no contract. Every price is on the pricing page.

Is there a contract?

No. Nimra is prepaid. Your line renews from credit every 30 days. Stop adding credit and it simply lapses, so there is nothing to cancel.

Do I need a new SIM or a new phone?

No. Nimra is an app on the phone you already have.

Is Nimra a SIM card?

No. Nimra is an app that gives you a phone number. It has no mobile data of its own, so your phone still needs Wi-Fi or a data plan, and your own SIM stays as it is. A SIM abroad, or a number in an app?

Can I get a US number if I live outside the US?

Yes. You pick the number in the app and it works wherever you have Wi-Fi or mobile data. People in the US call it as a domestic call. Guides: for students, for freelancers, for business owners.

Can I send texts?

Not yet: sending texts is coming soon. Lines receive texts today, and you can call anyone.

Will my Nimra number work for verification codes?

Often, but not always. Many services send codes to Nimra numbers, while some banks and large apps refuse internet-based numbers. Test the service you need first. Why some apps reject numbers.

Is the app in Arabic?

Yes. The whole app works in English and Arabic, and voicemail is transcribed in both.
